Submitting Information for Publication
All About Omaha, Inc. makes an effort to provide accurate information, however, we do not guarantee the accuracy of any event details.
As a public service, All About Omaha, Inc. publishes information about events and area organizations that are not related to All About Omaha, Inc. Community notices provided by the City of Omaha Neighborhood Services Division are published as a public service and are not an indication that All About Omaha, Inc. is directly connected to any other organization.
- Events:
- On the events page, there is a link on the left side you can use to submit event details. It starts an e-mail that starts filling in the e-mail body.*
- You may also go to the Contact page and supply information via the feedback form.
- If the event is a recurring event, please let us know the date rules (such as third Saturday of May).
- We need to know about an event at least two months before in order to work the data into the web site and have it be there long enough to be of value to the public.
- Community Organizations:
- At the top of the Community Organizations page, there is a link to a page that describes all the information that we need. Make sure all information provided is publishable. You can get an idea from the listings that are already in place but make sure you read the details (everyone that goes from the listings already there get their listing delayed due to not providing all of the information; more info is needed than is displayed). Make sure that you especially read the last part where a separate page for your organization is described.

- Events Displayed Details:
- Events show up on our events page (per year). If the information would take up an excessive amount of space, a separate page is created to show the full details (involves two files per event). If the event is an annual event, then it gets added to future year event pages (or future year individual pages). The event will also be mentioned on the calendar pages. Calendar page links will be to the individual event page or to the default events page. The event will also be mentioned on several pages at the left side on the day before (Tomorrow in All About Omaha) and the day of the event (Today in All About Omaha). Large weekend events will also be mentioned for the entire week preceding the weekend (This weekend in All About Omaha). If the event is a really significant event, it also gets included in the "Next event in All About Omaha" notice.
- The Home page of any web site is the most visited. At the top of our home page text is an arbitrary notice that shows up only when there is something that we need to alert everyone to. Occasionally an event is so significant or the information arrives so late that there is not enough time to get it fully integrated into the web site. In these rare cases, we have placed some short text in this notice area to inform the public.

You can see that as many as eight files (and up to 12 for extra pages) may need to be modified just to get an event integrated into our web site. Please be patient and submit early.
- Community Organizations Displayed Details:
- Community organizations get listed on the page. Their meetings get listed on the calendar page as a link to the Community Organizations page or to their own separate page on our web site if they have one (depending on what they have supplied). For community organizations that meet monthly, a routine is created to display the next meeting date. Following the date of a meeting, the displayed date changes to show the next meeting, but not until midnight of the day of a meeting. This allows anyone to check our web site to see that, "Yes, they just missed the meeting."
- Monthly community organization meetings also show up in the "Tomorrow in All About Omaha" and the "Today in All About Omaha" display area. If the meetings are more frequent, such as every week or every other week, then they are not listed in these areas.

Community Organizations without their own page on our web site involves at least four files (one changed, three created, plus one file per calendar date affected). If they have their own separate page, there can be several more files depending on how many photos or graphics they might provide.
If you are submitting a photo or graphic for publication on the web, make sure that you use the "permission to publish" forms from our public forms page in our Resources section.
Events are broken down into years, meaning the events page is for one year only. At the end of a year, if there are January events for the next year, they are also displayed at the bottom of the current year, otherwise, they might not get noticed until the new year. When the new year arrives, the January events are only accessible on the standard events page for that year.
There are two forms of the events page. One shows all the events for the entire year. The other shows only remaining events for the year, plus a couple very significant events; otherwise, our events page might end up being blank at some point. In this case we would like to show that we do have some things happen in All About Omaha. The default events page is the one that shows only remaining events. The full events list is accessible at the top left of the events page. Likewise from that page, you can switch back to the "remaining" list. When a link to a section of the events page is necessary, it is made to the full list so that after the event, the link will continue to lead to a page that displays the information. Links to past year event pages are also made to the full list version.
